“ I won’t lie, I may have chirped with glee when I walked in the doors of this place. While I wasn’t a fan of the person who took my order, (she was a little standoffish), I cannot deny the amazingness of all the things that we got while we were there! I got a cardamom Thai latte which was delicious, and my father and I got a ton of pastries, a quinoa bowl, and a turkey sandwich all for our long trip to North Dakota. Every single thing was so, so good. Not a miss in the bunch. There is lots of seating and looks to be a great place to hang out or to get work done. I wish I lived in the area so I could try everything. ”
“ Will stop for acai bowls. Whenever i see one on a menu i will get it. The Bright Eyes acai bowl at Blackbird Espresso is a game changer. Combining blueberries and lemon curd in a bowl?! Nom nom nom. They are my two favorite flavors! The bowl was 10 but amply sized. (I got mine to-go but we ended up staying due to a hail storm.) my husband got a pastie he loved and my kids got brownies. The lattes were also delicious. The menu was lengthy, with plenty of options. Need to stay awhile? There was plenty of seating, both indoor and out. The bathroom was clean. Everyone was friendly. Great spot. I’m not likely to ever be back in Spearfish, but I will be thinking about the acai bowl for years to come. Edited to add: we went back a second time. The buttercup acai bowl is also amazing. ”
“ Visiting Spearfish over the weekend and stopped in here to grab some morning brew after an early morning walk. We are from a big city and were shocked to the prompt opening (couple minutes before advertised time) and the incredible hospitality! It’s refreshing to see people actually wanting to work and have such a happy and positive attitude. My wife and I both throughly enjoyed our coffee drinks and loved the decor of this place! I’d love to stop by when the outdoor fire pit is on. What a beautiful design and set up. 110% recommend stopping here! ”
“ A pleasant little coffee shop just down the street from us when we feel the need for a coffee break. They have a real french oven and the pastries that come out of it are delightfully crisp, flaky and buttery. Also a slice of their heavenly carrot cake seems to weigh about 5 pounds. Can’t eat that every day, but their treats are absolutely worth treating yourself or your favorite person. ”
